About

Ranjith Ekanayake

I am Ranjith Ekanayake, a retired civil engineer having 38 years of working experience plus more than 23 years of lecturing experience in parallel. My effort is to make civil engineering resources available and accessible to anybody having an interest in this field, especially young students. I am originally a civil engineering diploma holder, later acquired a diploma in the field of public procurement and contract administration. In the meantime, I have qualified and fulfilled the requirements to obtain a post- graduate diploma in construction law and dispute resolution. Also, I have an MBA for which my thesis was based on service quality in the area of marketing management.

During my career, I have spent nearly 10 years in very remote areas engaging in the largest multi-development project of our country. Then, I had the opportunity to work another 8 years in the operation and maintenance field of large dams and reservoirs in the country.

For the latter part of my career, about 20 years, I worked in the engineering department of a government bank, during which I mainly engaged in procurement and contract administration activities. Additionally, during my free time, I shared my knowledge and experience with younger generations who wish to enter the construction field. My goal is not just to create a blog, but to spread my knowledge and experience for a better future with enhanced knowledge in engineering and technology, to create the society we live in an even better and safer place.
